Secure and appropriate housing is important for all Active tenants, but a sense of belonging and engagement is just as important.

In one initiative that has delivered healthy food and hours of outdoor fun, Active residents in White Road, Wonthaggi formed a co-op (membership $2 a week) to cultivate their own veggies.

On their allotment, they have so far succeeded in growing a wide range of fruit and vegetables, including strawberries, chillies, silverbeet, lettuce, cantaloupe melons and rhubarb.
